I don't think you understand. Turkish Cypriots were fine with the Annan plan which would have reunited Cyprus. Greek Cypriots refused. There is clear hostility against Turkish Cypriots, and Turkish troops are on the island to protect them. They are not occupiers.

This sounds like the excuse Putin made for his annexation of both Georgia and Ukraine. I understand the situation on the ground can be much more complicated, but in principle, I am against foreign invasion and occupation. I don't care of it's Israeli, Russian, or Turkish.
