In honour of Lady Archimedes being finished, I am looking for stories where Hermione intimidates people (deliberately or not), acquires a reputation for being dangerous, or is otherwise feared.

Ideally, the stories should have,

a Hermione who is recognisable;
no bashing of anyone, but especially not of Dumbledore; and
not a Mary Sue.

Depending on your crack tolerance levels in my own linkffn(LIke a Red Headed Stepchild) Hermione developes a reputation as a terrifying slayer of beasts and monsters, and also for actually being a Weasley. Unfortunately for her the reputation is mostly the fault of Gilderoy Lockhart and negligent journalism, but the Weasley bit is her own fault for drinking one of the twins potions.

I'm going to cautiously leave my linkffn(The Parselmouth of Gryffindor).

There has rarely been a more unbashed Dumbledore than mine, and Hermione definitely gathers a reputation as formidable… but your mileage may vary on how recognisable she is. I like to think that it's still apparent that she's the same old person from canon, but her circumstances have changed in increasingly major ways ever since her childhood, and so her end-result personality is somewhat different.

As to Mary Sue, she is not perfect and adored, and there's no romance in the story, but (largely because this is a comedy fic) she does win more often and more thoroughly than realism would dictate.

Yeah, I have very mixed feelings about that fic... There's all this promise of a powerful and misanthropic witch being tempted by darkness, but we don't really see any interesting character interaction except between her and Harry.

Dark Hermione, might be considered bashing of Harry and Ron, but I don't think so. Probably my favorite dark any main character fic I've read. I literally for chills reading it at points.

Anyone else feel like Hermione's bond with Ron is more sibling-like than her bond with Harry?

The way they argue over every mundane thing doesn't feel very 'old married couple' to me. It feels more like how siblings always start fights over nothing. I know we're supposed to see Harry and Hermione having the brother-sister connection, but I see it more with Ron and Hermione tbh.

Daphne Greengrass and the Importance of Intent is the greatest Hapne story I have read and Thanks to the author for this goddamn master piece

I just found it on accident and finished reading it in one sitting. As a sucker for romance and haphne as a whole it made me giggle and laugh and i loved every minute of it. Why do people forget that Tom Riddle was a Sociopath before he made his Horcruxes?

Like alot of these Harry/Tom squick stories people like to write or read don't take into account that Tom was a fucking Sociopath who literally could not understand love.

I don't understand why anyone can ship Tom with anyone even before he became Voldemort because he always had these tendencies even when he was a child, this is a kid who hung rabbits and tortured his fellow kids even the ones who weren't picking on him.

Sirius could have definitely left the Black money to Harry, there’s a legitimate explanation in the Wiki

EDIT: so apparently when Dumbledore picks Harry up in HBP, he confirms that Sirius left a “considerable amount of money” to Harry

According to the Wiki: The inheritance of the property by Sirius Black is almost certainly governed by the magical equivalent of the English Common Law concept of the Entailed Estate. Under this type of arrangement, the inheritance of the covered property by the designated heir ("down the direct line, to the next male with the name of 'Black'") cannot be prevented by disinheritance or any other legal means. The only way the entail breaks is if there is no living descendant who matches the conditions of the entail. When the entail breaks, the property in question can be disposed of by any legal means, including being willed to any person the current holder so chooses. This legal mechanism matches the known circumstances of the inheritance, where the property was inherited by Sirius although he was "disowned", and then could be successfully left to Harry Potter once there was no "direct line, male descendant.

We know there are 12 rooms in the Department of Mysteries. There's Death, Prophecy, Brain, Time, Space, and Love. What is your headcanon as to what you think the other six rooms' themes are?

To run with the theme, maybe the themes are something intangible and abstract like Love and Prophecy, more like the mysteries of life. I think maybe there's a room on magic (how it originated, the nature of it and how it has to deal with the person using it, maybe). Since there's death, maybe there would be a room that studies the origins of Life and how it came to be to where we are today. A room that

Maybe there's a room that has to deal with alternate dimensions and how different choices lead to different realities that might have perhaps fallen under Prophecy or Space.

What about a room that studies the soul? Or that'd also fall under life as well. Maybe the brain room records the thoughts of people as well their emotions, dreams and hopes. Maybe dreams have an entire room dedicated to them.

What are your thoughts about this? The DoM has always intrigued me, personally and I wish we would have seen it in other books.

Bellatrix’s baby talk

I love Bellatrix as a character for everything she can bring to the table to make a fic good. But by GOD my fellow writers can we all agree to smother the baby talk trope in its crib? She did that like...a handful of times in the books! She’s insane yes but she’s got some self respect! The most I remember her actually doing that was just to say “Ickle Harry” and maybe the childish “I killed Sirius Black” taunts if you wanna push the definition.

This is a character meant to strike fear into the hearts of those around her. One of the most powerful witches and the most skilled duelists in the world. Not being able to read her with a straight face is a problem!!

Special classes for each house

So i got this idea, maybe each house has one or two special classes to suit the house. Example:

Slytherin house gets class like 'Human Psychology for future uses when maybe manipulating someone, seeing body language to reap higher benefits from trade/business, etc etc.

Ravenclaw house gets mediation techniques for better concentration, memory, and creativity.

I cannot come up with something else right know, but what do you people think?

[Request] Looking for an HP x Avengers/Marvel crossover that takes place during the infinity war or endgame.

Title pretty much explains it.

Looking for a fan fiction that has HP characters or HP himself involved in the infinity war. It can be a longer novel that eventually gets to infinity war, or it can be a one shot. Anything goes! Slash and het and anything in between also good, tho I prefer gen.

Prompt: Harry naming his son Albus Severus is a political move.

I can imagine that after the war very few people would be willing to give Snape the credit he was due. He would be known as the killer of Dumberdorw and the Headmaster who sanctioned the torture of students.

There’s only so much good will I could expect Harry to be able to create given how little evidence he has, as well as how fickle the wizard if world is. Especially with people like Rita Skeeter running around. And just because Harry defeated Voldemort doesn’t mean everyone will now like or believe everything he says. Dumbledore defeating Grindelwald ended up mattering very little when it came to swaying public opinion in the face of a propaganda machine.

So in order to combat all of this, Harry names his son after Snape. The great wizard Dumbledore and the man who killed him, juxtaposed together in the savior of he wizard of world’s child. Given how in general people are moved more by their hearts than logic, I can see this more than anything helping to convince people that Snape actually was a double agent.
