    airstrikes killed at least 17 civilians this morning in al Nu'man. Strikes targeted buildings on the edge of the crowded local market. Activists saying one rescuer has been killed when rushing to the scene.

    Some important limitations here: 1) uses data from 1980 to 2004; 2) counts executed attacks, not plots; 3) measures incidents, not casualties 4) does not consider long-term effects. I suspect immigration-terrorism relationship more complex than this headline suggests

    I gave up on trying to correct this one a while ago. It seemed to be mostly an American problem and then started seeping over here, too. So I resolved to fume quietly rather than be socially awkward. But praise Him that someone is still trying.

    I don’t know who needs to hear this but it's "I ✨COULDN'T✨ care less."

    What a tragic development the demise of the Iraqi monarchy and the sharp turn to the Soviet Union was. Within the decade the republican order fell into the hands of the Ba'thist totalitarians, opening the road to utter devastation.
