ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming ITX/ac Motherboard Review

Test Setup

For our tests, we used a test rig which includes the ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming ITX/ac Motherboard, along with an Intel Core i7-8700K (Coffee Lake) at default clock speed of 3.7GHz (turbo boost 4.3GHz), as well as 8GB of G.Skill Trident-Z DDR4-3200 ram in dual channel mode.

All tests were conducted at default clock speed which auto switched to a turbo clock of 4.3GHz at a resolution of 1920×1080. High or Ultra settings enabled.

Idle Temps

I not going to lie. I hate how hot Coffee Lake CPUs can get, but while idling the temperature reached 40 degrees Celsius, which is acceptable.

Load Temps

With Turbo Boost (Auto) on the clock speed can go up to 4.3GHz. At this speed, the load temperature reached a mouth-opening 97 degrees Celsius. I guess the air cooler just couldn’t handle it. We highly recommend you use a powerful AIO liquid cooler (or custom loop) for cooling.

** For our overclocking tests, we switched to a Corsair H115i Pro AIO cooler for better cooling.
