South Libya doesn't take much to secure. Just a small fleet of wing loong drones (~10) to patrol the border and a few dozen always connected off-road vehicles to intercept any intruders. I don't understand why they need a base of such magnitude.

Me, I don’t understand why Libya is theirs to secure at all to begin with. Why are their drones bombing the Tripoli now? Why is it necessary? Why do they pay mercenaries in al-Khadim? Why did they need to bomb Tripoli in Aug 2014? Why do people assume they are reasonable?

Because they let people drink alcohol and eat pork and build churches so doesn't matter how much violations and destruction they cause with their action because they are the "ultimate good" "only beacon of freedom in the backwards middle east".
