This is one of the best bits of OSINT I’ve seen in a while. 74 internal checkpoints mapped in SE , many matched to videos of attacks. The report by tracks their evolution over time & implications for security policy

Many of these men are ex-rebels belonging to the ’ 4th Brigade - the worst supported brigade of the |n-backed Corps. According to local NDF, ex-rebels are being sent on patrols w/no support, those who make it back are sent out again.

(EDITED) Martyrdom reports continue to trickle in from & desert, but I’m told by a source in Palmyra that the number of deaths reported are no where near the reality: 30-50 men are dying in the desert EVERY WEEK (not day like I said earlier) to raids.

I was told the unit hit in this attack was led by Ahmad Awde, former commander of 's Shabab al-Sunnah. However , as pointed out, most reports claims ex-rebels have refused to go to frontlines.
