Becoming non practicing, I would say.
I've been regularly visiting Turkey for several years now to meet with Syrians. Each year, more are turning secular - more women remove hijab, more people drink alcohol, get tattoos, call for complete separation of religion & state.

Do you know why this might be the case?

they are affected by their environment, which is more secular. Their parents and community are not around to watch what they do. They've seen what mixing religion & state leads to in Syria (ISIS, other radical groups)

As a Syrian guy who has been living in Turkey for almoat 4 years now, I didn't notice that. But if it's true do you think it's a good thing?

I personally think it is good, but if religion makes some people happy, I'm of course all for it.

Please have some vision for future. So unfortunate that so many people are blindly running a perpetual clash of civilizations. In our global world, a person can endorse multiple identities and values at the same time without necessarily letting go of the original culture.

Are mainly young? I know lots of Syrians in the US who still hold on tightly to their religious lifestyles. It would be interesting to conduct a survey on the issue.
