Should we be concerned about the provenance of the company behind FaceApp?

As far as I can see, there is no reason to be concerned with the current version available on the store. I don’t see why the nationality of the developers is an issue. There is also some legit devs in Russia.

Obviously, we can monitor the next updates but for now there is no reason to panic, Russia is not trying to steal people faces

As far as I can see, they use 4 URLs: - http://hosts.faceapp.io - http://static.faceapp.io - http://api.faceapp.io - http://tyrion.faceapp.io

These servers seems to be Amazon or Google servers which is consistent with the app itself. They rely a lot on 3rd party services, (
@facebook SDK@Firebase@AccountKit) which are ironically made in USA -
