I would say the hostility is coming from the other side, considering the rebels ethnically cleansed 2/3 of Kurds out of Efrin and are constantly shelling SDF and threatening to invade.

Of course but the notion that people are ok with the regime is just absurd.
-
I have always wondered why the majority of Syrians like and keep voting for Assad? We went to great expense to train, arm and fund a bunch of foreign terrorists to rid the country of him and what do we get in return? No respect, no gratitude.
-
Naturally you would know from going there and talking to people
-
Only been in Syria once as a kid. I was born in Iraq. You?
-
Excellent! Tell us then, did the Syrian people like those foreign Jihadi head choppers we unleashed?

I had exactly that conversation with a young Arab in Qamishlo last week. He grew up in Damascus, went to college in Latakia and says he’s staying there because he doesn’t want to be conscripted to fight in Idlib
-
A very common story. Last year people where saying that the war was ending and I pointed this out as a specific reason why they are out of their minds to believe that.
-
Also the Idlib offensive is clearly not something the regime has taken seriously. At this rate they would suffer astronomical, military-breaking loses if they actually tried to retake the province.

Her calling human suffering an abstract issue is just too rich.

I guess she thinks nothing concretely fixes human suffering like bombing hospitals.

Why do you call the area Rojava? You know this is a sensitive topic for Syrians
-
rojava is a subset of the sdf-held areas, known as the autonomous administration of north and east syria. you’re right it’s wrong to call that whole 1/3 of syria “rojava”, but it’s a colloquial holdover from when the sdf/ypg only controlled kurdish-majority areas like afrin
-
It matters what we call these areas, calling it Rojava gives the YPG/SDF legitimacy over these areas, calling it North Eastern Syria wouldn’t be so bad

This woman she bitches about lister but she herself is like a virus. All that ever comes from her is the attempt to spread this sickness that is acceptance and even worship of a violent dictatorial man who sacrificed hundreds of thousands so that he could remain. Fuck her
