Had to clip this one, some insane GoPro footage as fighters storm regime positions. Fighters push through many attacks on their convoy and end up only 1 or 2 meters from regime armour.

Before the SCW started, Syria had one of the largest tank fleets in the world and hundreds of aircraft and helicopters - now they are reduced to what I estimate to be around 500 tanks and BMPs and 50-70 aircraft + helicopters.

As every night , I had the usual nightmare of being arrested by the Assad regime intelligence, everytime with a new version. This time the mukhabarat storming inside my house to arrest me was led by Susan Sarandon. I should take a break from twitter.

So until this point: • US/NATO didn’t ensure Turkey about threats posed by Russia in Syria • US partners with Ankara’s arch enemy. Turkey is fearful of a PKK state in itsborder • US doesn’t want to sell an air system to Turkey (They didn’t even want to sell smart munition)

US officials, on the record, initially supported Turkey’s arguments. But had different talking points while briefing reporters on background. US defense officials undermined Turkey’s claim and said Russian jet was in Syrian airspace when it was hit. So much for NATO solidarity

This anniversary feels colder, harder than most bc it’s painfully obvious that “never again” is a slogan, not a policy. Syria, Yemen, Myanmar, Xinjiang; more than at any time since 1995, the international community is completely uninterested in preventing atrocities.
