Can’t say I’ve been paying too much attention to the tanker wars but “Houthi and the Blow Fish” is a stroke of genius

One of (if not THE) best resources for research and analysis on arms captures in Syria, Iraq, and beyond is . Don't know how he does it, but I'd pay to get trained by him. Read his latest here:

It's refreshing to see the attention being paid to Sudan, but this is still happening in Syria every single day, like it has for the last 8 years.

One of the worst ways that the internet has affected journalism is how convenience, speed, and self promotion now supersede actual expertise or on the ground experience, particularly with conflict reporting.

Lemme correct myself. The Arabic described this as the results of a "chain of inghimasi operations" so not just one raid. But same effect.

10 RPO, 9 RPK light machine guns, 4 PK medium machine guns, 21 AK pattern rifles, 2 RPG-7s w/dozens of warheads, dozens of frag grenades, thousands of rounds of small arms ammo. From one raid conducted by a few fighters. Regime remains al-Qaeda's most regular resupply source.

Talking to a vet about pig health and what's best for them. Assumed "don't feed them cake or anything" vet pauses. "Are you slaughtering this one? Us: "Yes." "So do you really care if it's pre-diabetic?" Us: ... "Just feed him regular, but he can have cakes whenever you want."

Before anyone freaks out they'll have water the whole time & be placed in a shaded well ventilated spot in the morning. Pre-slaughter they go 12-24 hours no food to make processing go smoother. When they wake up they can have all the water they want in the world. Maybe even sugar

They've come to snuff the rooster.... Tomorrow is slaughter day. Kashmir, Crackers, and Henry (who we hoped was a Henrietta) had their final meals with treats and now go into their pre-execution fast.
