I actually would really love to go back to the suiting scene! I kind of fell out because my own suit is a bit old and past her prime despite being refurbished once already and I’ve kind of lost my connection to her too, so it’s hard to “get into character”. When I have the funds vailable though I do want a new suit to get back out there! Just gotta put “adulting” first xD
This may have already been answered before, but what made you want to become an artist? Basically at what point did you finally put the pen/pencil to paper and decide "I want to get better".
When I was a kiddo, I always had a strong fascination with animation and was really addicted (and still am) to Disney films/etc! When I was young, I used to try to draw all the time whenever I had a chance and I usually just drew pictures of Orcas and sea life since they were also a childhood obsession, haha. I think when I saw the lion king, I decided “this is what I want to do!” and got myself “serious” about drawing. When I was about 11/12 I found the “Lion King Fanart Archive” and seeing all these talented artists really gave me the drive and inspiration to push myself more!
Now that you mention it, I can kind of see the Disney inspiration in your work! You definitely were a 90's kid though lol Not a bad thing at all either.
This is a rough one! I haven’t mastered this one myself yet, haha. I’d say that the most important aspect of a character design is to make something -you- like and use them with confidence! The more you enjoy your character, the more others will! Joy is infectious after all!
Ooooh, another tough question! Honestly, style is one of those things that people can get really picky about, but at the end of the day, I think folks should focus more on their comfort zone rather than trying to “define” themselves so to speak; Draw in a way that’s appealing and flows naturally for you and you’ll usually develop your identity just by those means! That’s what I did at least, haha.
I’m a huge Pokémon fan (though I admit I love digimon even more, haha). My favorite Pokémon always has been Arcanine and I’d say that my second favorite would be Espeon! My favorite legendaries will always be Lugia and Ho-Oh!
I will always love the Gabumon evolutions and of course Renamon but I actually really like Hawkmon, Halsemon and Aquillomon, Veemon and all of his evos, Gazimon, Pegasusmon...the list goes forever! I even have a special soft spot for wormmon since Ken is my favorite character in the series over everyone, haha.
As funny as that would be, I actually am a pretty proficient swimmer! I spent my younger days living in Florida so I learned to snorkel and got my diving certification pretty young! I was also on swim teams for a few years and when I moved to California I picked up surfing for a bit (which was kind of funny it itself since I’m a pretty big lady both height and weight wise so I used a very sizable longboard that I saved up to buy for a loooooong time!)
Cool ^^ Ive done some snorkeling myself, almost went into Scuba Diving. I kinda wanna try Surfing it seems so exiting yet relaxing at the same time (Surfs Up got me interested) Ive done Wakeboarding but its almost the opposite of Surfing xD
I DIDNT BEFORE, but after LoL came out I sure as heck learned fast xD I’ve been “Anuvia” online for about 16 years now so when folks randomly started calling me “Anivia” I got really confused, haha. I don’t/have never actually played League though so I never would have known unless folks pointed it out!
Ahhhhhh, I don't get the reference on that one, I'm sorry ;u;!
As for advice for new artists, I think the most important advice I can offer is to never get discouraged and -draw everyday-. No matter how small or insignificant, do something every day! It really makes a difference and "your worst sketch is still better than a day you didn't make anything"!
So true, that advice ;_; Though the "never get discouraged" bit is reeeaaally hard, too. <.< How was it for you when starting out actually? (on to the next question!)
