Almost passed out at the store and had to call Rook to take me home.Drank a bottle of water before I went hope and felt way better.
I've been drinking water every now and then. I still can't get the 12 glasses a day. I'm going to try to get in a better habit of drinking more water even though it's bland and tasteless ( don't suggest the flavor packets as they have extra chemicals and whatnot). I'll need to but some lemons or other tasty fruit to make the experience pleasant.
If I was at Anthrocon, the situation would have been way worse.
I'm home and feeling better, will be starting work very soon.
edit: SInce people did mention the 12 glasses of water a day is a myth, I remembered the Adams ruins everythig episode
Right. There are several youtube videos making a good case with serious research data debunking the set ammount of water to be drank per day "rule".
Humans have a good thirst alarm, unlike cats for example who have that sense faded out and most of them are in a permanent state of slight dehydration.
From all the info out there I'd say just drink when you get thirsty. Just pay attention to what your body is demanding, which can be overlooked if you're focused on a task, like being addicted to gaming.
SInce this is my first pregnancy I've holding what my ob gyn says as law basically. It's been nothing but water water water for the baby and what not so yeah. I've heard the myth that we really don't need that much water but just stay hydrated when needed. I'm nervous and after nearly passing out I'm super shook up and do what I want to can to make sure the baby is okay.
12 glasses? I heard 8. Also, you actually don't need that much. Just drink what you can when you're thirsty. Remember, the human body can only go 3 days without water, so a couple of daily drinks is always good.
Fruits in water is a good idea. Although I do not suggest lemon. It is known to harm your teeth with it's acids. I personally add frozen fruits like raspberries or cranberries because they also act like ice cubes. For a pure flavor you can also just cut cucumber and add it in.
Also. Everyone saying you do not need to drink 12 or even 8 are right. Everyone has different bodies and you actually can over hydrate yourself. Even to a point to death, I drink usually 2-3 bottles of water a day.
uh-oh. I'm practically addicted to lemonade. lemon in general. fortunately, I go to the dentist three times a year, rarely have 4 on my gums, and they say I have amazing teeth.
I think I need to go with the fresh fruit and freeze them instead of using the already frozen variety. I believe a lot of the natural flavors are gone with already frozen. And I rarely add lemons nless I'm out and about at restaurants or something.
That is probably the best way to go. If you also want, The frozen fruits can then be used as fun replacements for ice cubes for in the bum if you and/or your partners are into that kinda thing. Just let it thaw and you have a healthy snack after
That's unsettling. I'm really glad that you're alright now though!
Not sure if you're interested, but my fiancee and I tried out some of these recipes for flavored water one year. They were pretty good, but the citrus one was really... well... not so good. Citrus fruit rind has oils in it that just make the whole thing bitter, even after a good washing, so it just tasted like citrus cleaning products smell.
We did a watermelon and strawberry one I think instead of mint and that was pretty good too. And it's the season for those fruits since it's summer.
But yeah! Glad that I could share and maybe help you out a bit. Hydrating is hard when water is so boring and we're all programmed for sweet beverages these days.
yeah, staying hydrated is definitely something you need to do; twice myself i nearly passed out from dehydration in recent months while i was out and about, stumbling like i was drunk; soon as i got a bottle of water in me i started feeling better
try getting something like culligan water delivery (which i have); the water tastes tons better than municipal tap water (which most often is highly chlorinated), most water delivery services add minerals to the water for flavor, to keep the water from tasting so bland and make it more crisp
also i can definitely recommend a bit of lemon in water, it gives water a nice tart flavor (tho i'd suggest just using a small squirt of lemon juice to a large glass of water, as it's easier than cutting up a whole lemon)
Each human body is different. It's why people that are 80 are able to eat pizza and be healthy.
So, I'm about 330 pounds. Over weight. So I would need more water right? Well, the area I work and the area I live both have a water issue, it's not Flint water but its still marked with a issue.
So I'm lucky if I get about one bottle of water pure in my body.
Most my stuff comes from Milk and any food I eat, which can be a bit.
So overall my advice is this, keep a source of water in a car where the sun can not directly hit. Even a 1 dollar gallon thing if it can be placed safe. Same for your very most common room. Drink from it when you feel thirsty.
Remember you can fuse water with tea's and basic juicy fruit or the odd Veggy. Good luck.
Edit: 12 glasses small are, okay. 12 glasses tall are a bit much. Fake number here but if you drank say....lets go insane and state 10 gallons. Likely more, you can HARM your body. At that point the person drinking that much water beyond the stomach pain they get can cause a very bad effect. Way too much water is bad. Too little is bad. But at lest 3 water bottles a day is a "Healthy" Balance. Since that would be for your three meals. Get it? This is very blunt. not over worry about the 8 glasses or what ever. Also overall your health and diet depends if you need these 12. Like some water issue or drying thing. Or what ever.
It's supposed to be 64 ounces of water...total. Not pure water imbibed, but water weight in all the food and drink you consume. Just about every kind of food you eat will have some water in it, so as long as you're not on dry rations, you should need around 2-3 glasses of actual beverage. And the flavor packets/squirters are okay, but if you get cold, purified water you may not need it. I've gotten used to just plain tap water with the occasional caffeine+sugar free soda, after a few years of depending on Mio.
Also don't buy expensive bottled water. It's almost always just tap water; you're paying for the bottle, not the water. Which can be worth it if you buy cheap and for the convenience of a disposable water carrier.
Finally, if anybody tries to steer you clear of some food or drink purely on the basis of "It's got chemicals in it, it must be bad for you!" ...don't listen. Everything you eat and drink is made of chemicals.
Try distilled water. I have my own water distiller, and the water it makes tastes so good it makes your mouth water. Seriosly, good water will actually make you thirsty for water.
Just get a huge pack of bottled water and have it on hand. ^^ If it's in the kitchen, and you have a little note like "Take one" around, you'll be inclined to grab one and start drinking. It's also a great deterrent against the late night munchies.
awww I can understand you on the pregnancy since I got 2 kiddos and I passed out last summer with my second son at work numerous times. only thing I can offer on advice is stay hydrated and cool since its summer. :)
That's terrible. All I could think about when I was going down was to not land on my stomach as much as possible. Managed to stay up on my hands and knees. I try to stay in the cool temperatures as uch as possible my body temperature just goes crazy that I have to step outside. Drives Rook crazy that change the house temperature so much.
Anyway, being more careful now and watching myself.
that's good trust it sucks when you can't be comfortable in the heat. my second baby was so moody from the heat and how I carried him my room stays cold all year around.
