Convention book, where people collect drawings from different artists on conventions. It is (or was) pretty popular here in germany. And it's pretty common to get fanarts drawn in them.

I can attest that this is EXTREMELY normal within furry cons in the USA. While a far lower percentage of the anime population are artists and there's less of a fixation on commissioning in it (commissionable artists at my 1st anime con were quite rare- nearly universal at the

furry con), I presume the use of personal sketchbooks and tomes by the patrons is common in that scene here, too. I honestly can't conceive how this wouldn't be a custom at artistically focused cons across the world, at least by those who commission often.

This makes no sense- a personal commission is someone buying your time and skills; the character isn’t what you’re charging for. ):T

It’s legally as infringing as selling a print, but I have never heard of a rights holder pursuing it.
