Requested by somebody.

So can I sell my own take on your original characters?
-
If somebody commissioned you for a personal sketch, absolutely. For something mass produced, no.

Wait wut!?! I get the deal with mass produced prints... but a hand drawn commissioned sketch is insane... is it because you are on a exhibitor stand and not AA??

Convention book, where people collect drawings from different artists on conventions. It is (or was) pretty popular here in germany. And it's pretty common to get fanarts drawn in them.

This makes no sense- a personal commission is someone buying your time and skills; the character isn’t what you’re charging for. ):T
-
It’s legally as infringing as selling a print, but I have never heard of a rights holder pursuing it.

In any other art show outside of anime conventions, that's also the norm. What series/rights holder made a complaint?
