The Dornish story line was sorely neglected in this show. I feel like they could have done a lot more with the talent they had on hand.

Not being funny they are great actors I loved the Dorne scenes

Never really got the hatred for dorne in the show especially when dorne is the worst part of book four aside from brienne's chapters. The sand snakes are imprisoned in the first chapter, Arys is boring, hotah might as well be a video camera, and arianne is like a boring version of cersei. The only good dornish characters in both the books and the show are oberyn and doran. Yeah ellaria has that great speech in book five but aside from that she doesn't do anything.

The show really fucked the Martell up (physically) . In the book , this man is one of the best players . He's playing the long game like Olenna Tyrell , planning details and very cunning.
If you read the book you will see that it's not very simple like the show. Most of the players still alive and playing well (even Mace is not that stupid) .
The show fucked up two great houses : Tyrell and Martell . Olenna and Margaery dominated KL right now in the book , Doran Martells planning the long game and his daughter who also know how to play , Varys even more mystery , LF is more likely in the show , and Sansa Clark knows how to play the game (the show really fuck Sansa with her stupidity)

I was 11 when they told me he was born, and 3 years late Elia came to the world.. they are both gone now and what is left is an old weak man who can barely walk - Ellaria: Doran... - Doran interrupts her and says: he loved you very much, I saw him lay with many men and women, all of them came and went. And if you stay here that is exactly what will happen, a war that will make rivers filled with blood and bodies pile on the roads. - Jaime: I don't want to start a war either. - Ellaria: I am going to set you free, on one condition.. when you get to kings landing you will send us the mountain's skull thus washing the dornish's rage. - Jaime: I promise you - Ellaria: you should take Myrcella, The Martells will never harm her, but she is not safe as long as the Dornish are angry with your family. - Ellaria opens the cell door. - Jaime: thank you - Jaime and bronn start to walk behind Ellaria, she leads them to Myrcella's chamber. - They walk in, Jaime wakes Myrcella and tells her: Myrcella trust me, please we need to go now, there is no time to explain - Myrcella starts to look around and looks over and sees Ellaria - Ellaria: Please child, listen to your uncle. - Myrcella nods and starts to walk with them - They are seen by dornish soldiers who alert the palace - Jaime and Bronn start to fight the soldiers but the palace has been awaken - They are able to fight the men and reach a boat, that will lead them to a ship - They get in - Jaime looks to Ellaria and says: thank you - Ellaria: just don't forget your promise - The boat starts to row away when all of a sudden an arrow hits Myrcella. - The Shooter is Lord Yornwood who is standing with dornish soldiers and then he tells them: take her. Scene 2 the next morning - Arianne walks to the hall where there is Trystane, Ellaria, Lord Yornwood and other lords and ladies of Dorne - Arianne looks over to Ellaria and glares at her, then she looks over to Lord Yornwood and says: You murdered the princess Myrcella - Lord Yornwood: I did what you could not do - Arianne looks enraged comes closer to him that she whispers in his ears: you're right you did what we didn't do, and you should be rewarded. She comes closer and kisses him on the lips. Then slices his throat with a knife. - Arianne then looks over to Ellaria and says: you betrayed your house, you betrayed your family, you betrayed Dorne. You stole our chance of revenge by giving away the kingslayer, and in turn you caused Myrcella's death - She looks over to Hotah and says: Take her to the Tower where she will spend the rest of her days. And that's the dornish storyline in season 5 Please wait till season 6

I was just rereading A Dance with Dragons and was struck by the difference between book Ellaria Sand and show Ellaria. I mean they totally butchered the character, which is a pity because book Ellaria was worth portraying.
So for all non book readers, I present to you the real Ellaria Sand:

They ruined what special there was in the Dorne/Martell storyline is one of the reasons why I will still read the books even if the tv series finishes first and reveals the ending.
Like the family bond they have no matter what happened/happens.
And when it was revealed that Doran and Oberyn were actually working together for a very longtime to avenge their sister.
Or when how shock and outraged the Sand Snakes were when they knew that Cersei was planning to ambush and kill Trystane, while in the tv series they killed him cold bloodedly.
They erased the great value and love that the Martells have for one another (Arianne was even ok to share his favourite lover to her cousins)
I loved the character of Arianne Martell and why did they excluded her, a character that, even though she was new and wasn't one of the main characters, had her own PoV.

They killed Oberyn, yeah that was awfull! But he wasn't her husband! She killed Myrcella who was Cersei's daughter! It will be more painful for Cersei know that she lost her second child than it was for Ellaria when she saw the Mountain crushing Oberyn's head, I think.

Why was she so murderously upset? Even that makes no rational sense.
Oberyn wasn't killed through any foul means. It was Trial By Combat, in which its accepted that the chance exists that the loser might die. He died fighting. And moreover, he died not because of anyone's fault but his own rage clouding his judgement.

Doran, he is the most clever of the snakes. He lies silently in the grass not stirring allowing his enemies to grow cocky and arrogant. And then when they get too close, thinking that they are invulnerable he strikes.
The Lannisters were responsible for the death of his sister, niece, nephew, and his brother of course he is not going to forget or forgive such actions. But he is patient, he knows that the war of the five kings has weakened his northern neighbors, but they can grow weaker still. Soon the Lannisters and Tyrells will be claw at each others throats and then he will drive the spear of the martells through their hearts.

Maybe Game of Throne is all just one of Julian and Miles' holosuite programmes. Imagine if Colm Meaney is listed as a new cast member for Season 6?
