Intercourse among the chickens is seldom cocnensual. Also, I’m in peace with the fact that is yet to arrive at my coop. But today’s incident was a dangerous escalation. I might have to take unprecedented measures to defue the tensions. 🐔 🐓 🍗

I usually respect the autonomy of the chicken community. I also recognise conflict as a normal part of life for the chicken society. But today, I had to intervene to protect one of the new hens who was facing what only can be described as sexual violence.

I had 9 cocks & 4 hens. I brought 3 more hens. The arrival of the new girls disrupted peace & harmony of the community. Now they are didived into 2 camps that refuse to hang out with each other. They have even separated bedrooms. The tensions have been growing in last few days.

This is a developing and popular story in Turkish press. Finally it is picked up by non-Turkish press Anytime I see his pictures and the stories associated, I go into existential crisis mode.

Hamay Hama Said was a Komalla member (a far left Kurdish revolutionary group). The group’s leftist tendencies were put in check after Nawshirwan Mustafa assumed its leadership & merged with Talabani’s PUK. But its members continue to hold key positions in PUK Still, funny meme

In most Middle Eastern, the post-colonial governments used the Ministry of Culture as means for cultural modernisation. The position was usually held by a leftist Same has been true in KRG. The position was always either hold by a Communist Party member or a leftist PUK figure

This meme is making rounds on Kurdish social media It was funny and I laughed but it doesn’t capture the whole picture. Hamay Hama Said, the nominee for Minister of Culture, has a military background but he’s an extremist leftist which is the only requirement to get that job

Major world media & their correspondents in Istanbul were drunk with Turkish opposition’s win in Istanbul-both literally & figuratively- They declared it as a win for democracy & inclusive politics? How, for God’s sake, Turkish version of Geert Wilders is a win for democracy?

Has ANYONE seen ANYTHING in ANY Western outlet about the strong racist, populist & xenophobic tendencies of the Turkish opposition? Why insist on covering Turkisb politics as a struggle b/w cute secular opposition vs Islamist Sultan while facts on ground tell a differnt story?

Let’s repeat it until the deaf hear it: Turkish opposition is the most racist, Islamophobic, xenophobic & fascist political entity in the Western Hemisphere.

Umit Ozdag, senior opposition MP & major Ekrem Imamoglu ally: “Lebanon & Jordan are deporting the Syrians. But some idiots say let’s integrate them into Turkey. They belong to dominant Arab culture & won’t integrate. We are fighting those who are setting scene for a civil war”

Rumours of Syrian & Israeli Intelligence officials meeting near Golan Nothing surprising about this. Israel has always preferred Assad to all his alternatives As long as Assad does not become an IRGC commander, Israel will just see him as another Arab despot easy to deal with
