    A bit of good news from the other side of the pond. That said, there is another party which might make parliament and it is literally Putin's: Their allegiance to Russia is *public*.

    As a reminder, outgoing Greek PM had claimed there is "not even 1 chance in 1,000,000" that incoming Greek PM Mitsotakis would win the election today. Gambling (like he did with 's economy in 2015) is evidently not his forte.

    My thought exactly!! Any fears that the protracted crisis would lead more Greeks to the extreme far right have been proven wrong! Such good news!

    Αν διαβάζω καλά (ψάχνω το απόσπασμα) ο εμετικός Κούγιας είπε onair (ΑΝΤ1) ότι η ψήφος των Ρομά, των μεταναστών και των ομοφυλόφιλων δεν έχει την ίδια βαρύτητα με των υπολοίπων. Είμαι σχεδόν βέβαιος ότι μια τέτοια δήλωση διώκεται από τον αντιρατσιστικό νόμο. Ξέρει κανένας νομικός;

    In other words, it wasn't the name resolution that drove to vote in a nationalist fervor against Tispras :) It was the economy, stupid (and the below expectations performance on morality, style of politics from Syriza)

    Perhaps the single best result of today's election in is the drainage of neo-Nazi Golden Dawn, with the party struggling to even beat the 3.0% threshold to enter the parliament, after a number of years.

    Can't stress this point enough. If you're interested to learn more about 's slide into lawlessness under Syriza the past 4 years (and part of the reason why Greeks opted for ND today instead), feel free to read this thread:

    ND is heading for a landslide win according to first exit poll in Greece. And extremist parties are struggling to survive.

    Might be useful to foreign media who are tempted to label today's results as a shock-defeat or a punishment for the government's handling of the Prespes agreement.

    Despite scorching heat, and after years of recycled cynicism about domestic politics, it looks like the turnout in today's Greek election was much higher than expected. A message of hope and democratic resilience by the citizens of a country beguiled by extreme populism.

    Η κλοπή κάλπης από αναρχικούς στα Εξάρχεια αποτελεί βαθιά προσβολή της Δημοκρατίας και απέναντι σε όσους πολίτες ψήφισαν σήμερα αψηφώντας τον καύσωνα & φυσικά το καλύτερο έναυσμα για την επόμενη κυβέρνηση να βάλει τέλος στο άβατο της περιοχής. Μηδενική ανοχή στη βία.

    Ο ΣΥΡΙΖΑ υιοθετεί μια γραμμή "εντάξει χάσαμε, αλλά δεν χάσαμε τόσο, είμαστε ο κυρίαρχος προοδευτικός πόλος". Στο μεταξύ, η ΝΔ έχει πάρει πάνω από 40%.

    Unbelievable: Greek media report that a group of unidentified anarchists stormed two different polling stations, stole ballot boxes, and vanished. (If the boxes are not found, these *specific* polling stations would call citizens to recast their vote.)

    -Highest percentage of centre-Right in Greece since 2007 (before the crisis). -Could be worse for Tsipras: 30% is high for the fiasco of his administration. -Varoufakis probably entering Parliament. -2-party system here to stay in Greece, with Syriza in the place of PASOK.
