    I don't mean this negatively. Our Amb in DC is clearly very good at his job; he read the situation and worked as best he can within it to promote British interests. Same with Qatar, which realised quicker than its Gulf rivals that the old ways were dead.

    Also watched - it has been that kind of day. I'm not convinced I had ever seen it before because I think I would have remembered Liam Neeson getting his daughter to set off grenades around Istanbul as a means of geolocation, a plot point I will never ever get past.
