He also went on record - with Robert Fisk in the Independent - to say that he thought Assad’s response to the uprising had been too lenient, drawing on his experience of crushing the Hama uprising decades earlier

Hasan has long had health problems - recently flouting sanctions to travel to Lebanon for medical treatment - but was in Deraa a few days ago telling civilians to “forget about” those who had been detained in the early years of the civil war.

Interesting given how central Hasan was to ‘putting down’ the uprising. Can someone check on Fisk? He’s going to be devastated.

Ben should consider 1. Leaving America for once and 2. Pondering the question of why Xinjiang is part of China and who the coloniser there is

“British regime media” would be pathetic coming from a would be edgy 14 year old who’d just discovered Chomsky, let alone an ostensible adult.

Mihrac Ural was targeted for assassination today, at least the second attempt on his life, with Turkey the most likely actor behind the strike. Ural was responsible for the Baniyas massacre, one of the most infamous in the Syrian Civil War.

Two possibilities. 1: There's a D-Notice. 2: The only sort of people who take Chomsky's view on this remotely seriously are a Putinist propaganda outfit, the house journal of a Stalinism re-enactment society, and a website run by and for cranks.

Interesting.. a British tanker in the Persian Gulf has come to a complete stop. Would expect it to start heading south but as of now it's completely stopped. Boat is the PACIFIC VOYAGER, image of the ship and it's location compared to Iran seen below.

Think Russia has a slightly different interpretation of what “stabilisation” means for Idlib 🤔 Great that you’re enabling them though 👍
