It appears that when ran locally, the server does see the change.

Steps I took:

1. Set up a monthly recurring transaction to a user
2. Visit the page below in settings
3. The site see's the transaction is recurring - the data send from the server is on the right

4. Cancel
5. Reload page
6. See that the transaction is no longer registered on the system

Re-opening @markeharding as the issue with recurring payments is not solved for me. Have edited the ticket to remove all of the plus issue which was fixed.

Noticed that all the subscriptions had the same subscription id: offchain, so things were getting skewed. Fixed with engine@34ddb380.
