Posted: April 5, 1999 Service Pack 4 (SP4) for Microsoft® Windows NT Server® 4.0, Terminal Server Edition (Terminal Server) is now available. The single source for all Terminal Server updates, SP4 provides: - New enhancements to application development, security, and application services.

The Single Source for All Windows NT Server 4.0 Updates
SP4 aggregates all updates and enhancements that have been made to Windows NT 4.0. Find out more about how Microsoft has engineered and tested these updates  in response to customer reports. New Enhancements to Management, Security, and Availability
SP4 updates functionality for Terminal Server 4.0 in the following areas: - Application Development. SP4 contains new APIs that allow access to Terminal Server specific functionality such as Server/Session management (enumerating, logging off or disconnecting sessions), the ability to query and set the Terminal Server extensions in the Security Account Manager (SAM) database, and the server-side virtual channel architecture. For software developers, the header files and libraries required to use these APIs are included on the CD.
- Security. SP4 includes the Security Configuration Manager (SCM). SCM gives customers the ability to define, apply, and inspect security configurations for Terminal Server installation. SP4 also includes enhancements to increased security in key network components with the Event Log Security Privilege.
- Application Services. SP4 provides accessibility services such as DCOM/HTTP Tunneling, which allows distributed applications built with DCOM components to communicate through firewalls with HTTP.
Preparing Windows NT Server 4.0 for Year 2000 and Euro Currency
SP4 provides updates to known Year 2000 issues in Terminal Server. For more information about Year 2000 issues, see the Microsoft Year 2000 Resource Center.
