    I’m going to be on a plane for 12 hours. I have no idea what’s going to happen in , but I know that when I land the city will have been changed forever. Like many have said, this is uncharted territory for a place that was a colony only 22 years ago. Stay safe, everyone.

    About 30 protesters entered the legislature’s chamber and dragged the several protesterd who wanted to stay outside of the legislature. No there are no more protesters here

    Protesters have broken glass panel walls around LegCo while blocking me and many other reporters from filming. This was sent to one of the protest telegram groups, protesters are becoming more hostile towards journalists. Be careful out there!

    Many have been asking: where have been the police? What is their strategy?

    This is an odd scene here at Hong Kong’s LegCo. Police sat inside, some not fully in gear and on their phones, for hours, why protesters beat away at security glass. They let the media broadcast the entire thing from inside. Surely they could have stopped this if they wanted to.

    4 hours ago, we watched police sitting inside LegCo complacent as protesters rammed at walls and doors - why didn't they act then? Now they've let protesters trash the building and are announcing they will enter & clear w force

    Protesters have shattered the glass on multiple sides of the building , dismantled a metal fence and turned it into blockade material. Where are the police?? Sitting on floor inside building while crowds push against outside.. 🤔

    there's a lot of talk about whether this is the 'wisest course of action'. even if it's not, what else have they not tried? all i know is what drove them to this, that they're pushing ahead knowing full well what the consequences are

    I'm at a loss for words on what's happening. Watching youngsters smashing everything in the legco, where probably lawmakers they elected were disqualified, I sense desperation, confusion and uncertainty, much like the city itself. After 22 yrs of misgovernance, tonight we r here.

    It is bizarre. Inside I am fighting against aggressive protesters blocking me from taking photos, outside I am being thanked by them for my hard work. ?!?!

    This is a mullet protest. Business at the front, party at the back. Still somehow a selfies and carnival atmosphere out on Harcourt while at the main LegCo entrance it’s a war zone.

    It was nearly impossible to film some of the protesters who were breaking into LegCo because of their aggressive use of umbrellas to block journalists’ cameras. Worrying attack on press freedom.
