| The GTBA Engine is a work in progress engine designed to be easy to build and inexpensive to obtain. The engine is designed around a turbocharger impeller/turbine pair. The engine is designed to be easy to scale so that members can build one using any turbocharger they can obtain. |  |

| The UT-160 is a modern design available for homebuilders. Plans are available as CAD files and the wheels are available via jetmax.ch. The engine is easy to build and is a favorite for modification with GTBA members. |  |
MW54 | |
| The MW 54 is a modern design available for homebuilders. The engine is different to all the other engines. It is much smaller and lighter, and is slightly less powerful at 10 lbs thrust. Plans are now available for the turbo prop attachment. |  |
GT-2000 | |
| The GT-2000 incorporates most of the modifications and improvements that have made the small gas turbine more reliable. |  |
Phoenix 30.3 | |
| PARTS NOT AVAILABLE The Phoenix 30.3 has the highest power output and unlike all the others uses the turbocharger turbine and compressor wheel. |  |
KJ66 | |
| The KJ66 has been the most successful of all small gas turbines. Kurt has achieved a thrust of 16-18 lbs from the use of high throughput compressor and cast turbine. A number of suppliers make parts available. |  |
Kamps | |
| The Kamps Micro turbine was the first to give improved power from the use of a turbocharger compressor. Thrust is up to 11 lbs. Like the FD3 this design is dated and there are many improvements required to get reliable performance, Many modifications are detailed in back copies of the GTBA newsletter. |  |
PT 75 | |
| PARTS NOT AVAILABLE The PT75 is similar to the KJ66 with power levels of up to 16 lbs thrust the design is no longer being promoted by the designer. A number of this design have been made and flown successfully. |  |
PT 35 | |
| PARTS NOT AVAILABLE The PT 35 is no longer promoted as a design but has been a proven concept . The details have been left available in case they may be of historical interest. |  |
Schreckling FD3 64 | |
| PARTS NOT AVAILABLE The Schreckling FD3/64 was the first practical homebuilt design and can give up to 5 lbs thrust. This design is now out of date and in order to get good performance many modifications to the original design are necessary. Many are detailed in the back copies of the GTBA newsletters. |  |
