Asked about speculation that he has ambitions beyond mayor, #Imamoglu says he’s at the beginning as he takes his mandate. “Winning the election is not the destination. I’ll fulfil my term and then see what the people will ask of me: to be mayor again or in another position”.

#Imamoglu criticised partisan, defaming media. “I can’t call them journalists. A columnist wrote +100 columns against me&my family - he never met me.” Says digital media is best way to overcome democratic challenge. “This election taught media that libel won’t take them anywhere”
