2/Buttiegieg is smart enough to realize there’s virgin ground left untended, but either he’s too much of a scaredy-cat to tread it (too young) or too steeped in an establishment consultospeak mentality to venture out. Waiting for the general? Faulty political instinct/missed op.

3/Clearly, the Dem high priests have already made up their minds not to run with Bernie (again). They fear he’s too extreme. But he’s their only truly compelling and authentic ‘character’ that has a prayer against Trump’s raw, force-of-nature branding capability. Again,missed op.

4/Even considering Biden to take the mantle given what’s bound to come out from the investigation into the Steele dossier and forgetting that Trump actually beat “Obama’s third term” tells us that they are not approaching this conundrum soundly.

5/Marianne Williamson may seem like an eccentric, but oddly enough her persona and message is as memorable as that of Trump’s, but she’s being dismissed out of hand. Whereas I think the person eventually contending Trump should be taking notes—BRANDING is half this battle/field.

6/All in all, not looking good for the opposing team. Makes one wonder what they were doing for 2.5 years, with hundreds of millions of dollars spent. In 2018 they beat out the Republicans for the House, but that’s very different from beating Trump.
