The disgraceful scene of Kurdish Education Minister’s islamophobic abuse was reminiscent of an identical event which took place in 2000 in Turkey Top Turkish student, a hijabi, had been taken out of stage in similar fashion (video)https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uWo7B4u6rV4 …

Niqab isn’t a common religious practice amongst Kurds. Number of women wearing it could be in few hundreds. However, Education Minister’s public display of islamophobia is a reminder of the sick mentality entrenched in large swaths of Middle Eastern secular establishments

What is the justification for niqab in the Sharia?
-
None. Still not an excuse to treat her like this
-
Then why is it Islamophobia rather than rejection of extremism?
-
Because that woman(for whatever reason that might be) believes shebis wearing the niqab for religious reasons and the man attacking her is attacking her because for him it is a religious symbol that has no place in secular country, etc. However, whether you call it islamophobia
-
It's a silly accusation. The niqab is the dress code of Islamic State, and you say is not part of the Shariah. Assuming one who wears one shares their beliefs is justified. Ostracising people with such beliefs should be a priority for Muslims. Not a cause to claim victimhood.
-
The IS hijacked a lot of "islamic" symbols, is it a reason for us to give up everything they claim to be theirs? Long before ISIS people wore niqab, even yemeni jews did, associating it explicitly with ISIS and claiming that wearing it is supporting them is very silly.

You a spokesman for Islamists now? Niqab is a tool to hide women. It's IMPOSSIBLE to live in public society wearing this monstrosity. Not that oppressed niqabi women have to worry about that though, their Islamist husbands would stone them if they left their houses on their own.
