    The fight is now in Central Garyan town. It will take a huge change in fortune for LNA to keep Garyan after today’s surprise attack by GNA forces. LNA had been busy reinforced positions around Tripoli airport when the attack came.

    Danoon out of LNA hands, opening up the way to the north of Garyan after Qawasim to the south of Garyan was taken a short while ago.

    GNA forces take Qawasim, an area few kilometres away from Garyan. If this progress continues, LNA days in western and Libya are numbered. It has virtually lost control of the south west of Libya, being only present in few areas.

    The late US Ambassador to Libya took great personal risk to gather shoulder-fired anti aircraft missiles post 2011. He died under attack in Benghazi. With systems like the mobile Pantsir in the hands of Haftar’s forces, escalation & risk reach new heights.

    الذهاب للانتخابات قد يفسح المجال امام وجوه جديدة وحلول جديدة، لكن ليبيا في حاجة للمكاشفة والمصالحة ولبناء وتقوية مؤسساتها الامنية والقضائية والاقتصادية قبل كل شئ. نحتاج مشروع واضح للتعامل مع هذه وتحديد صلاحيات اي برلمان ينتخب في تنفيذ هذا المشروع وانهاء مدته المحددة بصياغة دستور.

    Libya needs a truth and reconciliation platform.Needs stronger, capable security, judicial, and economic institutions.Any election without a clear mandate & restrictions to only deal these needs through a government, and to conclude with constitution & election is likely to fail.

    The areas of fighting around Tripoli are on par with Syria’s city scapes. GNA forces are very capable of defeating LNA in less than a month. Why they don’t is the lack of political trust. How fighters were neglected after the war against ISIS in Sirt is still remembered.

    Four GNA fighters who were captured by LNA forces several days ago were executed and bodies handed to the Red Crescent yesterday at the time of Eid celebrations. All reportedly had clear signs of torture. A systematic LNA way of dealing with PoW.

    Jordan has a genuine grievance with Libya. Its Ambassador was kidnapped in Tripoli to force it to release a convicted terrorist who became, after his release, a member of Benghazi Shura Council headed by Ansar Sharia leader. That was unacceptable.

    Khaled Najm Aamry died yesterday fighting with LNA as part of Tarhuna’s Ninth Brigade. He was a close associate of Motassim Gadhafi and was with him leading the force bombed by NATO on its way to Benghazi on 19th March 2011

    What remains of Libya’s HoR in Tobruk designates hospitals and the Red Crescent terrorists organisations for treating the wounded. Individuals calling for ceasefire are not spared, either.

    اكثر من مبعوث دولي اكد أن حفتر قالها صراحة أنه لايرى سوى الحل العسكري. لهذا موقف حفتر تجاوز مرحلة تساؤل خصوم حفتر فهو موقف معلن وواضح حتى في حديثه للإعلام.

    4/4>ختام الفقرة هو: خصوم حفتر معهم الحق في التساؤل إن كان حفتر سعى حقاً إلى تسوية عن طريق التفاوض نظراً لجميع هذه الحقائق الملموسة التي تظهر أنه ربما لم يكن ملتزم بالحوار كحل حقيقي

    Mohamed Abu Ghamja, former elected member of Libya’s General National Congress was taken from his home South of Tripoli last Thursday by LNA forces. His family have yet to know his whereabouts. It is rumoured that he is held in prison in Gharian.
