An evergreen racist trope against Palestinians: they are consumed by hate, incapable of seeking prosperity even for themselves in the process

I cried when I saw this picture. The baby’s arm draped around her daddy’s neck reminds of how my son holds on to me! I would do anything to keep my kids safe. We must find solutions because this simply can’t continue! I hope thoughtful leaders in both parties can work together.

Reports GNA forces advancing into Garyan to push out Haftar forces Lost in Libya analysis is fact Haftar captured town not due to military edge but bc nobody had expected offensive. Political talks were ongoing at the time Until April 4, GNA and LNA were not in a state of war

Doomed if they stay as refugees in host countries, doomed if they return to Syria. Thousands of Syrian refugees returning to Syria end up detained, imprisoned, and tortured

Zyad was one of the only organisers of the Tahrir Square protests of 2011 who went in to win election to Parliament. Very impressive man, now in jail.

Horrible pic of migrant father and daughter who drowned as they attempted the perilous trip seeking asylum reminded me of viral pic of Alan Kurdi, Syrian toddler who drowned in Mediterranean in 2015 His tragedy was shocking too but little was done to prevent more from happening

Interesting development if true. Mahmoud Jebril, former PM and head of National Forces Alliance (which won most seats as a party in 2012 elex) is proposing own initiative ending fighting &resuming political talks. Jebril initiative is defintely more aligned w/ that of GNA

Friends & fans of have decided to make June 25 - his birthday - as a way of celebrating his life & legacy. Many Libyans mourned Bourdain when he died last year, with several observing that he showed the world that was much more than Gaddafi & war.
