May I say, I don't dislike a certain type of Turkey pundits only - I tend to dislike *anyone* who thinks they know what they're talking about but only parrotting what they learnt a few years ago.
Let me tell you something when it comes to refugees: The hostility towards them is not exclusive to one part of the society. Majority of people, whether they vote AK Party or CHP, do actively dislike, exploit or discriminate against Syrian refugees.
AK Party govt/current Interior Ministry is facilitating certain local authorities under its control to ban signs in Arabic - do a Google search (in Turkish if you can :) )
To garner votes, AK Party's Istanbul candidate Binali Yildirim talked about deporting "troublemakers" - does that sound familiar to you? CHP's Imamoglu on the other hand talked about integration and all that. What do you make of that?
Bottomline: Politics in Turkey is not as black and white as you think it is or used to be. So please, do your research before speaking and maybe talk to your Turkish friends? Yours truly
