    Thought-provoking essay on Syria's "Sunni question," described as a structural contradiction that cannot be resolved by secular ideology unless empowered by strong and equitable institutions. Which, to put it mildly, is not the case now.

    New NW Syria healthcare statistics for April 2019, by . Red dot means respondents said medical assistance wasn't available to people in their town/area; black dot means they said it was. Capacity and quality of that healthcare is another matter.

    Såvitt jag vet, och rätta mig om jag har fel, är detta första gången under kriget som UD:s Syriensändebud genomför ett officiellt besök i kurdiskkontrollerade nordöstra Syrien. Det är nog inte helt orelaterat till IS-svenskarna och regeringens tribunalidé.
