Imagine looking at Sur, Afrin, every village bombed by TSK in Bashur and every city in Turkey in which AKP planted their own mayors after the elected candidate was removed and thinking "Erdogan is Kurds' best chance at peace". It is like this person took a nap the last 5 years.https://twitter.com/DonNawzar/status/1141785973300350976 …

Demirtas’s taking sides in the Istanbul election was first and formorst an ideological position and had nothing to do with Kurdish interest. In Turkey, Erdogan is still the last best hope for a peaceful solution. And Ocalan gets that. Hopefully rebooting peace process is next. https://twitter.com/ragipsoylu/status/1141773231298359297 …

Taking naps is proven to have great health benefits and I certainly recommend it to you because you seem to need it. War is the constant in Kurdish cause in Turkey. Erdogan represented an exception at least in his 2005-2015 years w/ 2 years of actual ceasefire. He still can be.

War is not a constant. There have been lulls at many times and the peace process, while it was around, was not an absolute ceasefire nor peace. Turkish expansion into Bashur still occurred and people in Bakur were still arrested en masse for political reasons.

Look my friend, I don’t argue with logical fallacies and anecdotal evidence. All fatalities during actual ceasefire period a handful in isolated incidents. No mass arrests. First major huge Newroz celebrations & Ocalan became a national figure with continued access to outside

Doesn’t mean they were in peace. They were in a ceasefire as an ageeed first step to peace Their ideological differences & the political clash on Syria remained but peace was still there. Even after HDP’s Kobani call caused brutal death of seveal Islamist Kurds, peace stayed

What ended peace was a miscalculation by both sides. PKK’s growing strength in Syria coincided with huge international pressure on Turkey due to ISIS accusations. HDP also passed 10% threshold for 1st time but refused to form gov with a bleeding AKP. War was inevitable.

And then PKK’s utter disregard for Ocalan’s final calls for disarmament -not actually very differnt from what HDP is doing today- can’t be ignored But then when war restarted, yes we went back to the usual in Turkey-PKK relations: atrocities

PKK unilaterally disarming would be stupid. Just as it would be to take orders from a political prisoner whose access to (mis-)information & access to communicate with the outside world, is completely controlled by the Turkish state.

If HDP choosing to use their democratic rights to not align with AKP's dictatorial presidential project means inevitable war, how can you claim that AKP wants democracy? Yesterday Erdogan even bragged abt his ethnic cleansing plans in Kurdish regions of Syria.

So what?! Shall we go back to May 1919 where Kurds together with the founder's of today's CHP had a way better initial position than Kurds with AKP 3 - 4 years ago?! That's your logical argumentation?? Nobody is advocating CHP but AKP's power and control must be broken.
