A confession and some reflection

mayu stumbled upon this while trying and failing to internet stalk her eye-candy.
(itz hard to believe that in this era of internet addiction that guy left no traces of existence at all on the world wide web except for that website that we had to make for our web design module)

anyway, mayu copied and pasted the article over here also.
just as a memorial in case that website should be deleted in the future.

oh well, what our small little world here doesn't know is that 方暁宇さん has already flew back to China.
Then again, he might be in US already.

He was... well... a complicated, confused little boy struggling to be the mature grown-up he was not yet, but failing to do so, he desperately trampled on the pride of people around him whom he convinced himself that they were beneath him. And by doing that, he hurt everyone around him and himself.

i do regret that we did not part on good terms.

but i don't believe that any thing would have changed even if i had been nicer to him before he left.

but i have to admit that i did had a tweeny weeny little crush on him which was crushed very very quickly because of his spoilt and arrogant character.

that crush basically stemmed from the fact that, hey, we are far away from home and we speak each other's language fluently and can understand each other to a certain point.

but what made me had hope in him was when he said that during the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake, he actually donated more than half his savings to help the earthquake and he was very upset over the fact that his classmates only bothered to donate like a hundred dollars.
Mind you, we are talking about money in thousands here, he was a filthy rich boy.(which of course explains the arrogance)

and he also said that his ambition was to become someone very powerful and rich, so that he could help people around the world, help those people in countryside china who are in terrible poverty as compared to those living in the cities. when he said these, i thought it was really cute because i believe that most of us have definitely thought of doing this when we were young, but the dream usually fades along with our childhood and becomes nothing more than a 'i want be superman' dream. we grow out of our innocence and kindness and become more materialistic. our dream becomes 'i want to be a superstar'. So, the way he actually talked about it amazed me.

some day i definitely hope to see him become the great powerful person he swore he wanted to be - someone who could help those in poverty and in need of help. That was the thing i found fascinating about him. But before that, i hope he helps himself.
