    Turkey’s pro-government Sabah newspaper says Erdogan has slashed taxes on US goods, making them a lot cheaper. No mention of why they rose in the first place or that Turkey was reacting to Trump cuts on steel duties

    At the start of this year, Albayrak said Turkey would escape recession. It didn’t. This month, Albayrak said Turkey’s economy will grow. Economists see a double-dip recession. Go figure.

    I guess the lira could reach “fair value” when politicians give it a fair chance.

    Our models say Turkish Lira is 8% undervalued, in line with $/TRY fair value at 5.50. But if another credit expansions happens in coming weeks, we'll have to downgrade our Lira fair value. That's because another…
