I've had people tell me that my Kurdish is bad because it's not "eger" it's "agar", since they misunderstand how the vowels work. Axx.

I’d say that to all Soranî speakers, not just in Başûr. For those in Rojhelat all the “w”s become “v”s!!

That's even worse, it's taking the Persian pronunciation of و which is v/ڤ instead not w. Are they doing that while writing Sorani in Latin script?

Yes, that’s right, eg: jovan for ciwan, va for û, Varya for Wirya. Also using “gh” for “q”, again adopted from the Persian pronunciation of ق!
