    (But! Remember! To! Stay! Professional! For some employers, a scanlation could be a liability. It’s important to keep this in mind when applying for job.)

    I want anyone who has the skills and passion to be able to go pro. I just also want them to show good sense in how they talk about their work. If inappropriate things said online about a manga make it back to the creator, the fallout can be very bad for everyone.

    I trash on scantalation groups a lot. But for people in scantalation groups who are interested in working officially or legitimately, this is a good thread to follow. If you have the skills for it, definitely give it a go!

    For those in search of work in the manga industry, we have a small collection of job openings on our website. (It is sporadically updated.)

    (For those currently involved in scanlations but want to work in the industry, be mindful of how employers may react. Not all employers have the same view on scanlation, but being professional can go a long way.)

    I will say this though: if you want me to employ you you must be honest about what you have done and projects you worked on. If you actively hide activities that is disqualifying. Own your past and tell me your experiences and we can talk.

    This thread is extremely useful if you want to work in manga localization.

    hey, i think right now is a great time to do a thread on how to get into the manga/LN/localization industry because why not! disclosure: i'm a LN/manga translator, so most of my advice will pertain to that, but some advice might be useful for other fields, too

    Anyone interested in working in the manga industry-read this!!!

    Same goes for manga translators/adapters/letterers, too. A single page website with your credits and an email is super helpful when certain people (like production managers) would love to hire you. If you can't have that right now, even just an email in your Twitter bio works! …
