    Look at This was part of Saddam's palace compound. It was given to University after 2003. Many buildings & palaces were turned into colleges & Halls. Mohammed, our violinist friend, sent me this today. Happy to see our guys enjoy freedom on campus.

    There is a narrative unfolding where the threat from white supremacism is being compared to that of extremist Islamism. I feel tempted to do this myself sometimes. But in many ways, the former is far more difficult - and threatening - for us in the West to deal with.

    After reading this thread, my thoughts are w/ Fahad and Loujain this evening. Here’s an interview w/the FT he did in 2017 (It doesn’t show in the piece, but about half the time he spoke about Loujain) - “Saudi’s first comic, on humour and his homeland” -

    A couple years ago, when I was writing for American Dad!, I needed an Arabic speaker for a small part. Our casting director recommended a Saudi comedian, who happened to be in LA for a couple months shooting a tv show. His name is Fahad Albutairi.
