#SRO | He died this day at early hours after fighting his wounds received after rockets fell on his position in N-#Hama. Mostly all groups, civilian or armed, publishing statements remembering how his role was important since 2011. Maybe last popular figure of the revolt (End).

#SRO | The fall of N-#Homs led another time Sarout to leave and arrived in Greater #Idlib. There, his group dissolved for another and joined Faylaq ash Sham. He participated to the civilian uprising renewal protests in autumn 2018 to support revolution, with public songs (4).

#SRO | He led hundreds of protests until may 2014, resisting the siege of the Old #Homs for years, refusing the defeat, with his Bayada Martyrs Battalion. The regime accepted him to be evacuated in May 2014 toward N-#Homs where he was in rivalry with #Nusra front (3).

#SRO | Abdel Basset Sarout was born in January 1992 in an old middle class family. He joined as professional goalkeeper the Karamah club and was considered a future player for the national team. He left his position inside the club to join the revolt in #Homs in spring 2011 (2).

ADD. : Hamamiyat was taken in their offensive in spring 2018 and they entered Kernaz before being expelled. This time, despite some reports, they didn't took over areas for a long time.

#SRO | In a first offensive to advance in N-#Hama, a coalition of #FSA-islamic fighting groups-jihadis tried to gain ground on Kernaz - Hamamiyat axis, as they tried months ago. Another time, it failed as regime well entrenched there and #Russia keeping an eye from sky.

ADD. : the statement is also using a rhetoric rarely seen in #SDF ranks, calling to stop "Shia invasion" and considering #Iran intervention as bad as the turkish one.

NOTE : this is only a political stand for sure. Don't expect #SDF forces to enter #Idlib. But it's interesting to see this position. It is also very important to see that, including recent days, #SDF eyes are still turned toward rest of #Syria, #Idlib in this case.

#SRO | Liwa al-Shamal al-Democrati is based on the former #FSA Liwa al-Qaqaa that fled under the attacks of former #Nusra front. Jaysh al-Thuwar has also fighters coming from former #FSA #SRF brigades ranks, also attacked and destroyed by former #Nusra.

ADD.: it's clear that Russian strategy advisors know how difficult it will be to progress in Idlib parts against #HTS. Remember that the nearly only owner of tanks and biggest artillery pieces is HTS. and for now, they were not really involved (only past night raids).

#SRO | #Russia'n led offensive reducing speed about capturing new areas as reaching #HTS held towns. Until now, there were under Jaysh al-Izza and #NLF control (weaken by a HTS military campaign months ago). Seems strategy to consolidate new frontline along S-W Hama-Idlib border.

#SRO | SHUHAYL PROTESTS | These protests are just "normal" in a town that is refusing any authorities not aligned on their history of ultra conservatism policy. It would be regime ? : protests. #FSA nationalists ? : protests. It's #SDF, so protesting ag. #SDF. That's all (END).

#SRO | SHUHAYL PROTESTS | In 2011, Shuhayl entered revolt in #DeZ. It became, the next year, the stronghold of #Nusra, with some of its leaders from the town tribes. Shuhayl, in same time, was a very hardline ANTI-#IS in 2014. Yes you can be radical and anti-#IS... (3).

#SRO | SHUHAYL PROTESTS | To understand Shuhayl, you must take all of its recent history. In 1980', it became a salafism point in #Syria. In 2000', #Assad turned it into platform to concentrate, before sending them in #Iraq, jihadis. In 2008, town was under salafis control (2).
