Some say “Cuba is poor” yet the *entire* world except for the US and Israel voted to end the embargo against Cuba at the UN—The embargo has cost Cuba $753 billion (obvs they struggle) yet they still manage universal healthcare and housing. How do they do that? Through socialism!

Anyway, that’s the last I hope I ever have to say on Bloodworth: one of the most odious products of the ultra-sectarian ‘Left’ to convert to a rabid apologist for western intervention & the destruction of the third world. He’s a weirdo & a nobody—more attention than he deserves!

If you give them even an inch they take a mile. People like Bloodworth will never be happy with your apology or retraction no matter how much you contort yourself. People like him need to be either fully exposed or simply ignored: no one cares what happens on twitter anyway.

The point here is that this man has no authority to judge someone for their position on Syria and even less to condemn someone for reading a very good and informed book on the subject. I feel sorry Grace has taken heat for this but you can’t play nice for people like Bloodworth

As we well know, Libya has slave markets where formerly they had healthcare, education, electricity, housing and infrastructure that was the envy of the region. The country is knee deep in bodies and blood because people like Bloodworth labelled defenders of Libya ‘apologists’.

Bloodworth is also formerly a member of the Trotskyite group the AWL, less a political group and more a cult, they have been banned from multiple UK socialists spaces for their vile views on child abuse and their record of islamophobia.

I have Bloodworth blocked as he’s harassed many people on the UK left, particularly women and people of colour for being opposed to US imperialism and Tony Blair’s war in Iraq. Yet you only need scroll through his timeline to see his views shouldn’t be taken seriously by anyone.

This is James Bloodworth, the ‘journalist’ who falsified ’s views on Syria in order to make Grace Blakeley retract her endorsement of his new book (which she called the best book she’d read all year). Bloodworth is a noted apologist for imperialism and intervention.

They make it so you can imply these things at most, you can have innuendo but never openly say it. That’s what becomes of these ‘radicals’ writing in ‘mainstream’ publications and appearing on daytime television. The court jesters of liberal bourgeois society.

They want us, would be radicals, to censor ourselves and make it feel like in order to have a ‘career’ as a journalist or politician then you can’t say XYZ which is almost always a condemnation of imperialism, the liberal order, and an unashamed endorsement of socialism.

Ask yourself ‘who is appearing in these mainstream publications and who isnt’. It is always the people who are acceptable to the editorial line which, in a news media owned by billionaires and corporations, will always be of conformity to liberal capitalism and imperialism.

I will always maintain that if your views are a genuine threat to the bourgeois liberal order you will never be allowed to write for ‘mainstream’ publications or appear on the CNN/BBC political shows as a ‘commentator’ without either being censored or censoring yourself.

That’s why, when you hear the ostensibly ‘radical’ socialists, even ‘communists’(!), who appear in ‘mainstream’ journals and on daytime political television programs they never actually *say* or *do* anything genuinely radical when they have that platform or they’d get cut off.

Bourgeois society will give people, some who may genuinely be radical, a platform on TV, journals, and writing articles for ‘mainstream’ publication like the Guardian/NYT then if they want to keep appearing they have to become ‘respectable’: losing the criticism of imperialism.

The bourgeois liberal state wants to create a ‘respectable Left’, in other words a tame left, people who will write superficially radical things and can appear on TV to provide ‘balance’ but won’t challenge the *fundamental* basis of the ruling class: capitalism and imperialism.

The James Bloodworths and Oz Katerjis of this world are fake leftists who spend their time shilling for neocons, whilst attacking genuine anti-imperialist leftists, particularly women. These bad faith actors should always be treated with contempt and dismissal.

The test of any socialist is anti-imperialism. The US will say & do *anything* to undermine geopolitical rivals like Venezuela, Syria like they did to Libya, Iraq, Vietnam & others. They paint anyone who defends the sovereignty of these countries as ‘apologists’. We must resist.

Sorry Grace but you’re wrong—Max is absolutely correct on the issue. Syria is a sovereign country and its affairs are for Syrian people to decide. They elected their president, not for us to wave fingers like we could do better when UK, US, and IS is trying to destroy the country

Paul is being very pear shaped here: ‘unelected advisors’, as opposed to what, not allowing the leader of the opposition to chose his own advisors and instead filling his office with people who have their own agenda and don’t support his plans. We’ve got enough of those already!

That means it will be necessary to discriminate, just as the working class and poorest are discriminated against, economically, by landlords and financiers, it will be necessary to target these bulwarks of power and wealth in capitalist society in order to construct socialism.

Even then, the socialist at the present moment is not for ‘pure equality’ because of the massive disparity between the working class and ruling class. That means the scales must be reversed, an intense period of redistribution of wealth, assets, land from the top to the bottom.
