Before people go crazy about this, Atatürk was a lot of things to a lot of people and if you love the guy, you are likely to be an apologist for the horrendous crimes he is guilty of. Just like any historic figure.

However, as it isn't 1935 and we have the ability to see the wildly negative consequences of the person's actions, it is dishonest to mention the good without also mentioning the bad.

Literacy and women's education initiatives = good. Doing everything possible in the 20th century to implement 19th century ethnic homogenisation of a very diverse state = not good.
