Is it typical for some J-bfs to disappear on their girlfriends instead of breaking up with them properly? It's happened to about 4 of my friends and 2 of my acquaintances in the past few months...

Big yikes! Yeah, one of my friends said her boyfriend disappeared all of a sudden. What was weird was that his family didn't seem concerned at all. I also noticed that his fb profile was changed to "single" recently so I'm a bit concerned.
It seems to be a thing here. -

I thought that was a thing everywhere now? So many people getting ghosted all over the world :( But with the Japanese penchant for avoiding confrontation I’d imagine it’s worse there.

I guess so, but they've been officially together for a long time so I was shocked!
I knew ghosting happens when people just start dating, but in serious relationships...that's a new low for me, dawg. -
Yeah, it’s still on the rise, even heard of people just moving out while the other was at work. It’s really horrible :(

This happened so many times to me I basically had a time limit . I don’t hear from you for 10 days relationship is finished. Japan’s dating scene is basically a haunted house with all the ghosting.

I remember a friend telling us about her bf... who she hadn’t been in direct contact with for 3 months after a fight. We were pretty sure he had ghosted her but it turns out a month after that they just continued where they’d left off?pic.twitter.com/MX0Tf0lGcT
