    Just so we’re clear, guest workers go through medical checks before they’re employed to rule out pre-existing medical conditions. The report shows an example of a medical approval that was given to the worker that died. 13/19

    They joined the funeral of a guest worker that died. His family told WDR he had worked in different construction sites in Qatar as an electrician. Reason of death: Exhaustion. 12/19

    1,426 guest workers from Nepal died in Qatar between 2009 and 2019. 522 of them as a result of sudden heart failures. 111 deaths this year alone. We're only talking about workers from Nepal. Guest workers also come from Bangladesh, India and other countries. 10/19

    Here’s a typical room where the journalists were allowed to film in by the Qatari government. Four people, personal lockers, tidy. And here’s a similar room where they weren’t. Eight people, dirty walls, few toilet booths serve about 200 people, “smell of urine” 7/19
