Government video purportedly from Kernaz tonight, showing fierce fighting on the outskirts of the town - possibly on the inside. It will be morning before we know who truly holds Kernaz.

IF rebels cut off Kernaz and cause confusion, they can easily disorient and rout gov. forces. Best done overnight when air support is less effective. If they sit on their captured villages, they will be hammered with artillery and airstrikes and will lose their paltry gains.

Multiple pro-gov pages have confirmed the rout of government forces from Jubbayn and al-Hamamiyat. Artillery will be targeting these villages. IMO Kernaz is unlikely to fall at this point unless oppo. vanguards can cut it off from reinforcement.

The first moments of the NLF's renewed offensive against Syrian government-captured villages in northern Hama, shipping out in an APC and atop a tank. Most of these fighters have GoPros attached their foreheads to record the battle.

This by no means justifies the use of live ammo on protesters. However, the insinuation that the SDF is there solely to punish local Arabs who won't follow them unquestionably is absurdly simplistic. The SDF is there because IS has put down deep roots in Shuhail.

The author of this piece has either conveniently forgotten, or outright ignored, the fact that Shuhail residents on numerous occasions lied about the presence of IS sleeper cells in tunnels beneath their homes.
