ISIS attacks continued to spread north from Deir ez-Zor hotbed (which saw 87 attacks, up 28%) attacks in Jazirah were concentrated along Shaddadi road south to Deir ez-Zor (11), but also reached Hasakah (4), Til Temir (2), and Qamishlo (2) [2/7]
Attacks increased in both Manbij and the Euphrates region (Raqqa, Tabqa etc.) NE Syria faced 42 armed attacks/ambushes (up 62% on last month), 22 assassinations and 6 executions following capture (up 33%), 69 bombings (up 73%) [3/7]
The full data set lays bare ISIS’ attempts to destabilise the securest and most peaceful region of Syria. It highlights the continued threat ISIS pose to the world at large and need for international security and humanitarian co-operation with NE Syria. [4/7]
