Yes, life goes on and tomorrow is the 7th Sunday of Easter. In the Gospel, Jesus prayed for his disciples: “Holy Father, I pray not only for them but also for those who will believe in me through their word.” May the Holy Spirit come to us to strengthen our faith.

A reminder that Catholics should not support or attend LGBTQ “Pride Month” events held in June. They promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Catholic faith and morals. They are especially harmful for children.

A couple more pics from my recent visit to St. Mary’s Church in Providence, an FSSP parish. Like our other urban parishes, working hard to keep the faith alive in the heart of the city.

Lots of bear sightings in New England these days. Maybe the ones to really keep your eyes on are the Bruins found in Boston.

Check out this week’s ⁦⁩ filled with great stories, including the good news that over the years ”Keep the Heat On” has provided over $3 million in heating assistance. Thanks to all who support this important diocesan program. It warms both homes and hearts!

Yep, we live in a society that celebrates Margaret Sanger and supports the racist, pro-abortion organization she founded, while at the same time we banish Kate Smith and her "God bless America."

Tomorrow, Ascension Thursday, is a holy day of obligation for Catholics. It is also a holy day of “opportunity” for us as we observe the Lord’s Ascension into heaven and recall the great glory that awaits us all. In these turbulent times, look to the future and let hope prevail!

In Matthew Kelly’s book, “The Biggest Lie in the History of Christianity,” a great question: If you could perform just one of Jesus’ miracles, what would it be? Walk on water, feed the hungry, change water to wine, cure the sick, raise the dead ... something else?

Because of Holy Mass, every day is a Memorial Day for Catholics. “Do this in memory of me,” Jesus said. How much good, how many graces, have come to the world from those six simple words of Our Lord!

In these days I (will) have visited parishes that are primarily Portuguese, Cape Verdean, Italian, or Polish, and a Latin Mass community as well. But all are thoroughly Catholic. Diversity and unity: Beautiful gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Today I celebrated Confirmation in the Extraordinary Form at St. Mary’s Church in Providence, a growing parish under the spiritual care of The Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter. As we prepare for Pentecost, may the Holy Spirit come anew upon the whole Church.

A happy and blessed Memorial Day weekend to all! We remember, with prayers and gratitude, those who have served and sacrificed for our beloved homeland. God bless America!

With so many pressing issues still pending in the R.I. General Assembly, I don’t know why they’re still spending time on divisive abortion legislation. Roe v Wade won’t be changed this year, if ever. With the status quo, not one woman in R.I. has lost a single “right.”

Though we learn many virtues from our Blessed Mother Mary, in our rapidly changing world, perhaps the most useful is trust. We never know what the future holds for us but we do know that in the end, all will be okay, because God will be with us.

“Christians love all men, but all men persecute them. They are put to death, but raised to life again. The Christian is to the world what the soul is to the body.” (Office of Readings)

In this wave, just one church building is closing, “Corpus Christi,” the church I was baptized in. It’s okay though. My baptism is still valid. 😇Buildings may close, but the faith lives on.
