this could be due to there being a distinction to 'what you are interested in' versus 'what your channel is' but it may not be smart of us to be making that distinction. it isn't clear for users

What do you propose the solution be @ottman? We've removed the suggested hashtags from the settings (pending MR). Anything additional we can do?

add the ability to put channel hashtags in settings. also make clear there the distinction between hashtags that you are subscribing to vs hashtags that you are labeling your channel with.
