About Masakazu Iwakura

Masakazu Iwakura is a senior partner of TMI Associates and is qualified to practise in Japan and the state of New York. He engages in M&A and various general corporate matters, and handled, inter alia, JAPAN POST’s acquisition of Toll Holdings, Idemitsu’s acquisition of Showa Shell shares from Royal Dutch Shell, the integration of UFJ Bank Group and Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group, the demutualisation and GPO of the Dai-ichi Mutual Life Insurance Company. He has lectured on corporate law and other subjects at various law schools. He was a visiting professor of law at Harvard Law School in 2007 and 2013 and has been professor of law at Hitotsubashi University, Graduate School of Business Law since 2006.
