Punishing the rest of us who would respect your wishes strikes me as demonstrably unfair. It's your work so you're free to do as you wish, but the notion of cutting off access to those of us who would respect the creator's desires is in some ways worse as then one can't even appreciate it for what it is. All this does is gives incentives for people to go about getting the models if they want them badly enough, in the very manner requested for us NOT to do. Highly counterproductive way to go about it.

Also as someone who never played VRChat, could anyone explain to me as to why using models in VRChat is such a big bugaboo with model creators? I genuinely don't get how potential free advertising for an artist's high quality work is seen as a negative.

this logic always makes me short circuit.

restricting access when someone 'breaks the rules' (which they almost always do)

rewards the rule breaker -- punishes everyone else

"if I was a rule breaker" (I am _not_ a rule breaker, but if I _was_ one)

I would try to be as fast as possible about discovering new models with 'rules' and breaking the rules.
Then be sure to let people know they had been broken so they would remove access for everyone else.

this way I would get exclusive access! Is like getting exclusive commissions!

with logic like this, it seems it /does/ pay to be the villain

Tda rules do not say that please check TDA's updated ruleset.

Tda allows the use of their model in VRChat but holds no responsibility. TOS of TDA was updated mid last year to reflect this.

I havent seen this one for sale at all before this I would get in contact with the people and say its not for sale. Basically, VRChat doesn't profit or allow you to sell directly in VRChat all of that is done outside of VRChat. If someone has it in a public world for people to use then you can file a DMCA take down on the public world if you dont want them using it. However they are not selling the use this isnt second life they dont have a store for people to sell in VRChat. VRChat themselves dont have control over it unfortunately but they can pinpoint the person for breaking ToS.

Basically, use in VRChat means they are just using it as an avatar they arent selling it. However I cannot say all avatar creators are the same. Some may look at selling the edit like this one. But honestly most avatar creators just use it as an avatar and not sell it. Not all VRChat users are bad eggs unfortunately there are some that are bad eggs.

In disclaimers on downloads and readmes please make sure to put in "under NO circumstances may you profit from this model." most good creators would read that and be like "okay well then" and not sell it.

I am sorry this has happened. If you'd like I can DM you some information for VRChat and how to get in contact with them and some other things that make it hard for use as avatars.

Its stupid how people who reall ydo respect this model and its rules arent able to get it cause one person who didnt respect it went and broke the rules thinking he would get away with it. People should learn to respect the creators of models and there rules. I really wanted this so i was just wondering if i could get it if i note you?
