<MEGA THREAD> A lot of people want to start doing security on Android. In my opinion, one of the best way to do it is to read all the fantastic write ups/bug reports made by the community. Can you share in the comments, all the Android articles/write ups/bug reports you know?

Erratum: Huawei will still have access to the security updates and OS updates for his new products. As they lost their partnership with Google, they will not have the previews and so it will delay the updates

I wrote about it months ago. Technical proofs are not complicate to find. And yes, if you follow me for a long time you probably know it already, is not the only data abuser on Android

will survive to this ban. This ban is a direct consequence of a geopolitical move from the US BUT there is a technical foundation to it too. is a data abuser for years. I will not cry for them.

Current users can chill, this is not the end of the world. You will not receive the security updates and the OS updates. This is a problem but not the end of the world for an average user.

A lot of companies with a sh*t ton of money tried and failed. Create a successful OS is more complicated than you think and it’s not just a question of money

So yes, maybe will create a new OS. But this is not a question of days or months, we are talking about years.

Creating a new OS is a HUGE work. You don’t even imagine the effort behind that. Push people to use another OS is a HUGE work and cost a lot of money. Push developers to create apps to make apps for his OS is a HUGE work.

For Huawei users' questions regarding our steps to comply w/ the recent US government actions: We assure you while we are complying with all US gov't requirements, services like Google Play & security from Google Play Protect will keep functioning on your existing Huawei device.

We have confirmed this is genuine. Huawei will only be able to use the public version of Android, and won’t get access to proprietary apps and services from Google Huawei will have to create their own update mechanism for security patches
