Sarah has made a name for herself at home as a respected singer-songwriter and performer in both her native tongue (Welsh) as well as in English, with four albums and an EP under her belt. Constantly gigging and writing, both as a solo singer-songwriter, as well as with her band.
Sarah Louise (Born Sarah Louise Sarnacki Owen) was born and raised in the Welsh speaking town of Caernarfon, North Wales. From an early age she loved writing stories and making music on her old upright piano that her Dad saved from a skip.
Sarah’s parents divorced and she used writing and music as a way to deal with her emotions and thoughts, all the way through her teenage years, where this finally turned into songwriting.
But being a singer was not on her list of to-do’s until she realised she had a good voice at age 17. Until then she’d only sang in choirs at the Eisteddfod. She was more interested in being a film director or a journalist.
Sarah Louise got signed to Welsh record label Sain in 2005 and released an album, Tir na Nog, followed by a digital bilingual EP Creithiau (featuring a duet with Canadian singer-songwriter Tia McGraff and a translation of McGraff’s Fisherman Song).

Keen to work on her English material, Sarah went on to make Skin Deep, an independent album, with producer Tommy Parham in Canada. She later made a Welsh language album, Ar Goll (Lost) with producer Rich Roberts.
Sarah decided to work with Rich again to make Dream Catcher, her new album, which features a song co-written with The Christians’ songwriter and solo artist Henry Priestman called These Walls.
The album tells stories, from emotional piano driven love songs, acoustic tales of life, to up-tempo folksy band songs sure to have you tapping your feet.
Sarah has been a regular performer on S4C TV and her music is popular on BBC Radio Cymru in particular. She was selected for the BBC New Talent Songwriter’s Academy a few years back, and was finalist in Can i Gymru (Song for Wales) in 2009 with her song Un Peth Dwi’n Gwybod (One Thing I Know).
As well as gigs in the UK, Sarah has played in Europe as well as two small tours in America, concentrating her efforts on linking Boston and Wales-based musicians. She was recently successful in The Next Big Thing, North Wales’ search for original bands, and played at the North Wales Olympic Concert, Access All Eirias, which featured Welsh stars like Mike Peters and Only Boys Aloud, as well as Pixie Lott and Ollie Murs.
Sarah's influences come from strong women of song, such as Alanis Morissette, Sarah McLachlan, Heather Nova, Sheryl Crow, to name a few. Inspired by them as well as the rich folklore ad landscape of her country, as much as everyday life and love. Her laid back, yet bold style captures that Celtic connection, skilled songwriting and raw emotion.
Sarah's songs have been described as lyrical poetry, which is reflective of Sarah's writing credentials. She was a poet before she became a songwriter, and later graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Creative Studies and a Masters in Screenwriting, where she was shortlisted for a David Lean award. She has written, directed and worked on many short indie films.
From her studies to her hobbies, Sarah is a creative soul, with a love of filmmaking, music and writing. She is also an arts events organiser for Bocs, a non-profit arts company in her hometown.
Sarah and her band can keep a party going, while her solo performances make a room fall silent.
